This comprehensive guide will help you maximize FPS and achieve smooth gameplay in Perfect World, even on lower-end systems. We'll cover essential Graphics Settings, Optimization Setting, and other tips, such as driver configurations, and system-level tweaks to eliminate lag during mass battles, Territory Wars, and everyday gameplay.
Graphic Settings
Proper configuration of graphics settings is the key to comfortable gameplay in the Perfect World. Even on a weak PC, you can achieve smooth performance if you prioritize wisely and disable the most resource-intensive options. Graphics settings can be opened by pressing the K, or accessed through the game interface. For quick graphics optimization, you can use the shortcut button, which can be found here:
The recommended graphic settings for best performance (maximum FPS) during large-scale events (for example, large battles and Territory Wars) with many players are as follows:
You can also fine-tune all graphics parameters depending on the performance of your gaming device. However, to do this effectively, you need to understand how each parameter affects performance (FPS). Let's examine all graphics settings elements in more detail.
1. Display Settings
- Overall. Sets a global graphics preset with 5 levels (preset 1 disables everything, preset 5 maxes out all settings). Decrease this to the minimum if you want to quickly achieve a maximum FPS boost. Recommended for quick setup.
- Res. (Resolution). Determines the number of pixels on the screen and heavily loads the video card. Lower the resolution if the game lags even on minimum settings.
- HD Mode. Replaces models and gear for Blademaster, Wizard, Archer, Barbarian, Venomancer, Wildwalker, and Edgerunner classes with improved versions and enables the advanced appearance editor. Disable this option to reduce load on your system if you do not play these classes or need better performance.
- UI Size. Scales interface elements for better readability on high-resolution monitors. This setting does not affect FPS, so adjust it based on your personal comfort.
2. Environment Sliders
- Gamma. Adjusts the brightness and color reproduction of the image. Changing this parameter has almost no impact on the frame rate.
- Textures. Controls the level of detail on the surfaces of all objects in the game. Lower this to the minimum if you have limited VRAM or experience stutters when rotating the camera.
- Distance. Determines the rendering distance for characters, monsters, and the landscape. Significantly lower this slider for stable performance in crowded cities and mass PvP.
- Water. Manages the quality of reflections and the detail of the water surface. Set this to the minimum to eliminate frame drops near bodies of water.
- Trees. Controls the density and rendering distance of trees. It is recommended to lower this if you experience lag while traveling through forested areas.
- Plants. Responsible for displaying grass and small bushes on the ground surface. Lower this parameter to reduce the load on your system when in the open world.
- Cloud. Adjusts the quality and volume of clouds in the sky. Disable or lower this for a small FPS boost without sacrificing core gameplay visuals.
- Terrain. Affects the complexity of landscape geometry at a distance. Lower this value to reduce CPU load when flying at high altitudes.
3. Effects and Toggles
- Anti-Aliasing. Smoothes jagged edges on 3D models for a softer look. Select Disable if you want to remove unnecessary load from the graphics chip.
- Shadows. Creates dynamic shadows for objects and characters. Be sure to uncheck this, as it is one of the most resource-intensive settings in the game.
- Warp. Enables air distortion effects around spells and portals. Disable this if your FPS drops sharply during combat when skills are used.
- Sharpen. Makes object contours sharper and more distinct. This setting barely affects performance; use it according to your preference.
- Soften. Gives the image a soft glow (Bloom effect). Disable this if you prefer a crisp image and want to save a small amount of system resources.
- Sun/Moon. Adds visual effects for celestial bodies and dynamic lighting changes. Uncheck this for a minor increase in frame stability.
- V-Sync. Limits FPS to your monitor's refresh rate to eliminate screen tearing. Disable this to remove input lag and see the true performance potential of your system. It is recommended to disable V-Sync in areas with high player concentration.
Optimization Settings
Optimization settings can be opened by clicking the wrench icon in the upper left corner (above your character's HP bar).
Let's take a closer look at each settings element and determine the recommended values for each of them.
The recommended optimization settings for best performance (maximum FPS) during large-scale events (for example, large battles and Territory Wars) with many players are as follows:
1. Optimization Mode
Normal Mode – no optimization settings are applied.Quick Optimization – automatically sets optimal optimization parameters.
2. Model and Effect Display
Selection of model and effect display mode. 5 modes available (from minimal to maximum):- Standard Mode. All models and effects are displayed with maximum quality. Performance optimization is not performed.
- Simple Mode. Simplified character models are displayed. All equipped gear and additional costumes are hidden to improve performance. Recommended for: small/local battles, solo gameplay.
- Recommended. All character models are displayed, but only key visual effects. Genies are hidden. Important effects include: skills, statuses, flights, attack/hit/spell animations, as well as NPC and item actions. Recommended for large battles, GvG.
- Important players. Costumes and detailed faces are displayed only for characters you interact with directly: in trade, combat, hugs, marriage, or while in the same party. Recommended for 1v1 battles, group dungeon runs.
- Self Mode. Maximum resource saving. Only your character's model is visible, as well as the character you have currently targeted. Recommended for 1v1 battles.
3. Limit Player Distance
After checking the box, you can adjust the effect display distance by moving the slider:- Measured in: meters
- Range: from 5 to 100 meters
- Recommended value: 50 meters
4. Limit Number of Displayed Players
After checking the box, you can adjust the number of displayed characters by moving the slider.- Two sliders: for enemies and allies
- Measured in: number of players
- Range: from 10 to 100 players
- Recommended value: 50 players.
5. Limit Effect Quality
After checking the box, you can adjust the quality of displayed effects by moving the slider. Four effect quality levels (from best for optimization to worst):- Level 1. Display only basic effects.
- Level 2. Display some effects in simple version.
- Level 3. Display all effects in simple version.
- Level 4. Display all effects in full version.
6. No Effect Limits for Own Character
After checking the box, restrictions on the type and distance of displayed effects will not apply to your character — only to other characters and NPCs. This parameter allows you to exclude your character from settings in sections (7) and (8), even if they are activated. This feature allows you to optimize everyone around you. At the same time, your character's effects remain full.
7. Limit Effect Types
After checking the box, you can adjust the type of displayed effects by moving the slider.Four effect setting types (from best for optimization to worst):
- Level 1. No Special Effect (all effects, including skill effects, are hidden).
- Level 2. Display skill's flight lighting effects and status lighting effects.
Recommended for optimization with noticeable quality loss. - Level 3. Display skill's flight lighting effects, status lighting effects, attack action lighting effects, hit special effects, and channeling special effects.
Recommended for optimization with minimal quality loss. - Level 4. Display skill's flight lighting effects, status lighting effects, attack action lighting effects, hit special effects, channeling special effects, and presentation special effects (shows all effects, no optimization).
8. Limit Effect Display Distance
After checking the box, you can adjust the character effect display distance by moving the slider.- Measured in: meters
- Range: from 10 to 100 meters
- Recommended value: 50 meters
